General questions
Does my child need a diagnosis to come to Espai Tribu?
No.
You can contact us even without a prior diagnosis.
We start from the needs you observe day to day, what concerns you and what you are looking for as a family. From there, we assess what kind of support may make the most sense for your child.
From what age do you see children?
It depends on the service.
We offer Discovery Spaces 0-3 for the youngest children and their families. Individual therapy and support sessions and inclusive after-school activities are for children from age 4.
If you have questions about the right age, write to us and we will guide you.
How do I know which service my child needs?
You do not need to be sure before getting in touch. In fact, many families arrive at Espai Tribu without knowing exactly which service they need.
You can tell us what you are noticing, what concerns you or what you would like to work on. With that information we will help you work out which option might fit best.
Do you work with children with ASD?
Yes.
At Espai Tribu we take an inclusive and individualised approach and adapt our activities to the needs of each child. Our starting point is not just a diagnostic label, but the person, their moment, their needs and their strengths.
Do you work with children without a diagnosis?
Yes.
A diagnosis is not necessary to seek guidance, take part in activities or consider support. If there is something in daily life that concerns you, that is reason enough to get in touch.
Can different services be combined?
Yes, as long as it makes sense for the child.
For example, a child can take part in an after-school activity and, at the same time, have an individual therapeutic process. Combining services is neither compulsory nor automatic — it is assessed based on each case.
Therapy and sessions
What is the first therapy session like?
The first session is for getting to know the child and understanding the reason for the consultation.
We gather information about their daily life, the needs the family has noticed and the areas you would like to work on. From this initial assessment we can plan personalised support.
Are sessions individual or group?
It depends on the service.
Therapy and support sessions and occupational therapy are individual. Inclusive after-school activities, Discovery Spaces 0-3, one-off workshops and holiday camps are in small groups.
Do families take part in the process?
Yes.
We believe the family is an important part of the support process. We share observations, guidance and strategies so that what is worked on at the centre carries over into daily life.
In Discovery Spaces 0-3, families take part directly in the sessions with the children.
How long are the sessions?
The length depends on the service. Group activities have set times and therapeutic sessions are organised individually.
When you get in touch we will let you know the specific length of the service you are interested in.
What is covered in therapy and support?
We can work on emotional regulation and expression, self-esteem, confidence, behaviour, boundaries, social skills, attention, learning or situations that affect the child's wellbeing.
We also offer guidance and support for families.
What is covered in occupational therapy?
Paediatric occupational therapy supports areas such as daily-life independence, fine motor skills, coordination, balance, motor planning, sensory regulation and participation in different settings.
The aim is to help the child take part in everyday activities with greater independence and confidence.
Activities and groups
What does it mean that activities are inclusive?
It means we prepare the environment and activities so that children with different paces, profiles and ways of participating can all be part of the activity.
When needed, we adapt materials, instructions, paces or the way an activity is presented. For us, inclusion is not everyone doing exactly the same thing — it is everyone being able to take part in a meaningful way.
Are the after-school activities only for children with specific needs?
They are primarily designed for children with specific needs. But they are not closed exclusively to those children.
Siblings, friends or other children are also welcome. For us, inclusion means creating spaces where children with different needs and paces can share, play, learn and grow together.
What are Discovery Spaces 0-3?
They are family groups designed to support the development of the youngest children through play, movement, experimentation and discovery.
Activities are organised by age range: 0-1, 1-2 and 2-3 years. Groups are small and families take part alongside the children.
Do you run camps during school holidays?
Yes. We run camps during school breaks: Christmas, Easter and summer.
Dates, times, activities and prices are published before each period.
Do you run one-off workshops and activities?
Yes. Throughout the year we schedule workshops and activities for children, families and, in some cases, adults too.
The programme changes each month — we recommend checking the activity calendar.

How can I find out if there are places available?

What are the centre's opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 9.30 am to 7.00 pm.
Some activities have specific times depending on the programme.

Do you see families from outside Vilanova?
Yes. Families come from across the Garraf, Penedès and Baix Llobregat areas: Sitges, Sant Pere de Ribes, Cubelles, Cunit, Calafell, el Vendrell, Vilafranca del Penedès or Castelldefels are 10 to 30 minutes by car from the centre.
